Frequently Asked Questions

Dogs stay with us in our home and are fully integrated into our daily family routine. Days include regular potty breaks, time outdoors, supervised interaction, and plenty of rest. We focus on creating a calm, structured environment where dogs feel secure and settled.
This is a real household with children and other dogs, so routines, boundaries, and consistency are a big part of daily life here.

Yes. Dogs are crated overnight and during meals. This is our standard practice and helps maintain safety, routine, and calm for everyone in the house.
Crates are also necessary in the event of an emergency evacuation, allowing us to move dogs quickly and safely if needed.
Very rare exceptions are made on a case-by-case basis, but crates should be considered a required part of your dog’s stay here.
-
Yes. While we are often home, we do not offer constant supervision. Dogs must be comfortable being left alone for a minimum of two hours at a time.
-
For safety, dogs sleep in their crates overnight.
During the day, dogs are welcome on furniture unless you’ve requested otherwise.

We live on a private vineyard in Calistoga. Dogs spend time both indoors and outdoors and are always supervised when outside. While parts of the property are fenced, dogs are kept safely managed at all times or leashed unless they have reliable recall.

No. Our rates reflect the level of individualized, in-home care we provide and allow us to maintain consistent routines, safety standards, and availability for every dog in our care.
That said, our direct booking rates are significantly lower than our Rover rates, as Rover includes additional platform and service fees. Booking directly allows us to keep pricing straightforward while offering the same level of care.
We believe in transparent, consistent pricing rather than rotating discounts or loyalty programs.
